ONLINE CLASS REVIEWS

 I am so grateful for Graham's online yoga classes!  They offer the same joyful, expert-level instruction we've been receiving at Graham's in-person studio for years--the only difference now is we're all at home.  Graham still manages to make each class feel like a community and to offer helpful corrections and guidance on each pose for each individual student. Her attention to each student and her devotion to helping everyone make the class work for them is truly incredible. When I finish one of Graham's online classes, I feel energized and peaceful, like I've had a refreshing breaking from all of the chaos going on in the world right now. The classes also help keep my body feeling great, even when working from home on the computer all day. Thanks, Graham! -Elizabeth

Graham Williams is not only a stellar Yoga teacher but she rocks the virtual classes! I would not have imagined doing Yoga via Zoom prior to the pandemic but Graham has made it work. She still explains patiently how to do each pose correctly and then watches as her students do it at home. She is still able to comment and ask us to adjust as necessary. I hope one day we can return to the studio and receive hands on instruction but in the meantime, this is the next, very best thing! I am so grateful for you!  -Mary

I am so very grateful to have online classes offered by Graham Williams!  These are extraordinary times—we’ve never experienced what is now happening in The US, the world.  Yoga is a shield during these trying times!  Since it wasn’t possible to meet at the studio, online classes were a great alternative!  I like attending in person Zoom classes and I like the YouTube option being able to have a class when it’s most convenient for me when I can’t attend Zoom!   It’s Important for me to have this continuity at my fingertips!  I encourage all students to give it a try until we can all meet back at our favorite yoga studio! -Carmen

 I  have been a student of Graham for five years – in the studio and now on Zoom, three times a week.  Graham is an inspiring, patient, and nonjudgmental teacher.  She has changed my life.  While I miss the camaraderie of the studio, Graham’s  Zoom sessions are a perfect balance of revival and challenge.  She is extraordinarily skilled at giving each of us individual attention in the Zoom classes. She makes everyone feel good. I am neither flexible nor athletic, and it does not matter: I feel better and happier after every class.  -Nancy

As a lifelong Yoga student who attended classes in Yoga studios, I was thrilled when Graham began to offer Zoom classes. The move from studio to Zoom only served to accentuate Graham’s expertise as an instructor. Her ability to quickly adapt to a virtual format was impressive. Graham provided advisement to each student in regard to setting up a home practice space as we learned to be “virtual” students.

Graham’s class format is much the same as in the studio with demonstrations and then talking us step-by-step through each pose as we practice. Graham is highly skilled at managing every aspect of the class. I’m amazed at how she can still offer individual supports via Zoom even though the class size has grown. Every once in a while, I communicate with Graham via hand signal (we are all on MUTE) and she totally gets it!

Graham is one of the most passionate Yoga instructors I know. This, in addition to her deep caring about her students, has remained strong and clear. That’s just Graham’s way. Her focus and skill, combined with Graham’s warmth and sense of humor, have been a heartwarming constant during these challenging times. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to continue studying Iyengar Yoga with the brilliant and lovely Graham Williams!! -Jessica

 Even though I haven’t been able to visit the studio for in-person classes since COVID-19 began, my practice and lessons have continued seamlessly. Graham has done a wonderful job in creating the best remote class possible as well as maintaining a sense of normalcy.  In fact, during my weekly class it almost feels like I am in the studio.  Our classes are as warm and inviting as always. Also, Graham doesn’t miss anything when it comes to the individual attention like we were all accustomed to in the studio. She pays attention to the littlest detail and suggests the correction…all while remote! If you’re looking to begin or get back to yoga, the on-line classes at Iyengar Yoga Center of Raleigh are a great way! Graham does a great job in helping calm the mind and allow for a wonderful beginning of the day. -NAT

I have been a student of Iyengar Yoga for the past 7 years. When I moved to North Carolina I looked for an Iyengar Studio. I found Graham’s studio but it is at least two hours from my home. When I told those close to me I was going to drive four and a half hours round trip to take a 90 minute class, people thought I was crazy. To be honest, I thought more than twice about it. But then I met Graham. After my first class I understood that as long as I was in North Carolina, I would be making this trip weekly. 

Graham teaches with honesty, integrity and kindness. She is tough, clear, insightful, careful about each students needs and welcoming. Her classes make me feel strong and I work hard but at the end I am calm and focused. At age 61, I am the strongest and healthiest I have been in my life. Iyengar yoga and Graham have contributed to my good health. I feel blessed that I can now take more classes when I can without the travel. I miss the in person contact with Graham and her students. It is a wonderful and welcoming community. I feel fortunate that I can continue my study with her. When its safe and COVID is over, I will make that drive again. -Sheri Katz-Plotkin
